Are you able to help Aberdeen School?

Do you have any of the following lying around at home that you would like to recycle:

Board & card games Books & magazines Paper Crayons & chalk Building blocks Cars & trucks

Lego & similar Dolls Colouring in books

...and so forth.

We are in the process of rethinking what we offer Aberdeen children in our playground. We would like to be able to set up social circles within our playground, allowing for those children who prefer to sit and interact with their friends on shared activities like those mentioned above.
Should you have any of the above items at home that you would be happy to donate, they would be very much appreciated and very well received.

Freaky Friday

Freaky Friday was held recently at Aberdeen School. Teachers and children all dressed up for a very enjoyable ... if somewhat unusual day.

Balloon Day
Balloon Day was held in Term 1 on 26th March at Aberdeen School. Teachers and children all dressed up in Waikato colours, let hundreads of Waikato coloured balloons fly and we managed to pile in a huge number of children, staff and parents into the massive balloon... What an experience!

ACAR—Aberdeen Community Assisted Reading

We are in need of new ACAR tutors to help with some of the children in our school. Each session with a child is half an hour and you would need to commit to two days a week. I will take you through a short training programme before you work with a child. If you are able to help, or you know of any other adult who has the time, please contact me at school.

Scholastic Book Club
The final day for Scholastic Book Club orders from this issue is Tuesday 23rd February at 3pm, to ensure that books are delivered before the end of term.

Please ensure that all orders are named and with their room number.
The preferred method of payment:

        Cheque to Scholastic New Zealand
        Cash—the correct amount please!

Please make sure that if your child’s order requires a coupon to be filled in, that this is done, along with their full name and room number on the top of the order form.

'Yummy' Stickers
