Change of clothes
If your children play on the fields at interval and/or lunchtime, please ensure they bring a change of clothes in a plastic bag to school each day, in the event they become wet and muddy.

Parent Teacher Association
The PTA is an active body within the school, whose primary objective is to provide financial and social support to the school. We welcome input, interest and support from all parents and are grateful for parent help and ideas at major fundraisers throughout the year.

PTA Meetings

These are generally held on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the staffroom at 7.30 p.m.
Next meetings: Wednesday 24th February.
Wednesday 24th March.

PTA committee meeting after, all welcome, supper provided.
Children are most welcome with their parents. Visitors and new members are welcome throughout the year.

Friends of the PTA:

Would you like to help with any of the PTA events? Would you like to be involved but do not want to commit to PTA meetings? We would like you to become a Friend of the Committee - these are parents and caregivers we can ring if needed to help with various events throughout the year. Contact the office to become involved.

Two years in the making our school frontage project is complete with the unveiling of our
three Pou Tarai (carved posts) and Kohatu (rock).

A huge celebration involving our children, staff, local Iwi, dignitaries and community was held on Friday the 1st of May.

The concept design was inspired by Aberdeen Primary Schools A-frame logo (Understand, Develop, Empower) and the carvings reflecting the heritage of the land and people, our Celtic ancestry but most importantly the dreams and aspirations of our children both past, present and future. The kohatu (rock) symbolic of many cultures globally used as a central point of inspiration, story telling, song and prayer.

James Webster (artist) of Tainui descent was honoured to be part of the project and was overwhelmed by the sense of 'whanau' (family) and 'warmth' of the school and community.
